In a personal style, the journalist and music lover Lex Bohlmeijer tells the story of Calefax’s rise over the course of thirty years. He starts with its formation by a group of high school students and traces its blossoming into an internationally recognised chamber music ensemble. In the process Calefax also championed a completely new musical genre: the reed quintet. The book also contains extensive interviews with the group’s five members as well as over 200 photographs from the Calefax archives.
This book includes a Calefax cd of your choice. You can choose from the cd’s CalefaXL, On the Spot, Romantic Kaleidoscope or Libro de Glosas. Please inform us about your choice at productie@calefax.nl after ordering this book.
