Description
Calefax’s ability to adapt a markedly vocal playing style, makes the combination of the works of these two masters from very different era’s a joy to listen to. Both Pärt’s 7 Magnificat-Antiphone and Byrd’s Magnificat have been arranged for reed quintet and voice, where countertenor Kai Wessels sings the vocal part. Other works by Pärt and Byrd are being performed by ‘just’ the reed quintet.
