Concert
The Alba Rosa Viëtor / Calefax Composers Competition offers young composers and reed quintets a stage. Composers aged 40 and under are invited to submit an original work for Reed Quintet. The jury, led by Willem Jeths, selects four works to be premiered on this evening. They will be preformed by Calefax and other leading international reed quintets. An excellent opportunity to get to know various reed quintets and meet a new generation of composers, competing for the main prize of €3,500, the second prize of €2,500 and an audience award of €1,000. Each reed quintet will perform an existing masterpiece from its own repertoire in addition to its composition in the finale.
This composition competition is a collaboration of the Alba Rosa Viëtor Composition Competition, the Calefax Composers Competition and Muziekgebouw Amsterdam.
