Meet the new generation of reed players! Five young musicians have joined forces to create a new group called CalefaXS.
In 2025, they performed on the Dutch national television programme Podium Klassiek and at the Calefax Reed Festival! This season, the reed quintet will be performing in a number of solo concerts. CalefaXS is a collaboration with the Sweelinck Academy, through which we provide coaching for up-and-coming musicians and organise concerts for them.
CalefaXS consists of Bente Meulenbeld (oboe), Abel Honée (clarinet), Roos Vondenhoff (bassoon), Axel Van De Sluis (saxophone) and Matilde Gomes (bass clarinet).
