The Morphing Relations project brings together two of the most adventurous ensembles currently on the scene: the German Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart and Calefax Reed Quintet.
The programme features numerous premières and several new arrangements; the participating composers are all challenged to create their personal musical expression of the concepts ‘morphing’ and ‘relations’.
This musical encounter involves the coalescence not just of the seven singers of Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart and Calefax’s five reed players, but also of the musical ideas and identities of diverse composers – both past and present.
Fabio Nieder, Eine alpenländische Volksweise von Krieg und Tod.
José-María Sánchez-Verdú, Terrains vagues
Steffen Krebber, mediated mixes
Elena Rykova, Thousand Splinters of a Human Eye
Carlo Gesualdo, Moro, lasso, al mio duolo
Sander Germanus, Le tourne-disque antique
The project Morphing Relations received a financial contribution from Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung
