Before he dedicated his life to painting, Vincent van Gogh had many occupations. It wasn’t until the age of 27 that he found his calling. In Van Gogh’s Way to Go, we follow Vincent along the path where his passion for art, without regard for any conventions, took him.
Calefax brings Van Gogh musically and theatrically to life. We zoom in on the tiniest details of his art and travel alongside Vincent with quotes from himself or his loved ones. Through music, we search for the underlying emotions in his paintings, which includes pieces that Vincent has listened to himself or were written during his life.
Van Gogh’s Way to Go is a project by Calefax Reed Quintet in collaboration with Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and Van Gogh Museum.
