Before he dedicated his life to painting, Vincent van Gogh had many occupations. It wasn’t until the age of 27 that he found his calling. In Van Gogh's Way to Go, we follow Vincent along the path where his passion for art, without regard for any conventions, took him.
Calefax paints a musical portrait of Europe in the ‘10s, ‘20s and ‘30s, which was subject to many major and rapid changes, like globalisation, the first World War and the worldwide influenza pandamic, How did a composer uphold oneself in these turbulent times?
From 15 untill 28 March, 2023, Calefax travels to the United States for a series of concerts and masterclasses. Calefax performs music of their new albumAn American Rhapsody which reflects the kaleidoscopic diversity of American music of the past century with music by well-known composers like Gershwin and Ellington and underexposed composers like Florence Price and Moondog.
Calefax tours six to eight concertprogrammes per season in the Netherlands and tours abroad to a.o. the USA, China, Japan, UK, Eastern-Europe and Germany.
