Calefax invites composers of all ages and nationalities to participate in the 16th annual Composers Competition for Reed Quintet. The winner will be awarded a prize of € 2,500,- and their piece will be performed by various outstanding reed quintets from all over the world.
Calefax shares the stage with chamber choir Cappella Amsterdam. A universal concept to which every person gives their own meaning. We live in a time where we collectively seem to realise that our planet could exist without mankind, but mankind won’t last a day without our planet. With music by Paul Simon, Claudio Monteverdi, Antonìn Dvořák and Kate Moore.
From 8 October untill 19 November, Calefax performs the family concert The Music Factory. The five Calefax men work in a pipe factory. Every day they do the same and that suits them fine. So there is great panic when one day the orders stop coming in...
Calefax tours six to eight concertprogrammes per season in the Netherlands and tours abroad to a.o. the USA, China, Japan, UK, Eastern-Europe and Germany.
